Why do I need lotion?

During the tanning process our bodies natural oils and minerals are stripped. Indoor tanning lotions are specifically designed to replenish our skin to add the lost nutrients back into our cells leaving your skin moisturized. Moisturized skin helps your skin tan faster and holds your tan for longer. UV rays reflect off dry skin, prolonging the tanning time. We also recommend applying a moisturizing lotion after tanning indoors and outdoors to extend your tans life and to aid your skins health.

Do I need eyewear?

Yes! When exposed to any UV light indoor or outdoor you should always protect your eyes. Indoor tanning goggles are designed to block 99% of UVA and UVB rays to protect your eyes. Eyewear should be replaced every 6 months to ensure their quality. Eyewear is designed to give to you the most exposure possible on your face without harming your eyes and leaving you minimal to no tan lines.

What kind of lotion should I use?

Salons have stock of professionally made tanning lotions specifically created for indoor tanning. All professional tanning lotions are designed to replenish the nutrients your skin looses during the tanning process. There are many variations of lotions which are based on personal preference. After visiting your local tanning salon we recommend aiding to your skin by moisturizing your skin everyday with a moisturizing lotion. ABSOULTLY NO OUTDOOR TANNING LOTIONS OR OIL BASED LOTIONS ALLOWED IN OUR BEDS.

What should I wear to tan?

This is a personal preference based on your comfort. Some people wear a bathing suit just as they would outdoors or just underwear to protect sensitive areas. Others take advantage of the privacy of indoor tanning and go nude to avoid tan lines. If you do decide to go nude, the areas that are never exposed to UV light should be exposed slower than the rest of your body to avoid burning. We recommend exposing areas for 1/3 of your set exposure time and extending exposure as tan lines begin to fade.

How old do I have to be to tan?

To use a indoor tanning facility in the State of Michigan you must be 18+ years old, or have a parent consent. If under 18 we require the tanner to bring in a parent or guardian when signing up to sign the release form and to be informed on how the tanning process works.

How long do I tan for?

Depending on if you have an existing tan or not will determine your tan time also your skin type is a factor. First time tanners are highly recommended to start at 1/3-1/4 of the full time for the tanning unit they will be using. As sessions go on, time can be increased 1-2 minutes each session if burning did not occur on the previous session. Recommended exposure times are also posted on each tanning device.

Will I look orange?

It's possible when lotions are used incorrectly, but is avoidable. When tanning with a lotion with a high amount of DHA (dihydroxyacetone), the build up of the bronzing cosmetic can give your skin an orange hue. To correct the hue you can use a color correcting lotion to balance out the color. To avoid feeling orange be sure to rub in your lotion evenly and wipe any excess lotion. (A little goes a long way). If you are an avid bronzer lover you can also try out a natural bronzer to deepen your tan while avoiding a possible orange hue.

How do your reoccurring membership packages work?

Our membership packages are an automatic monthly payment payed from your card of choice. They are reoccurring until you choose to freeze or cancel it. When frozen for that month you still will be charged a very small fee to hold the membership. An individual account can only freeze a certain amount of times before it will be permanently canceled and can not be repurchased under that account. With the membership you will always have a percentage off on lotions also.

Can I put indoor tanning lotion on my face?

Yes, but indoor tanning lotion may be too harsh for those with sensitive or acne prone skin. If you want to use lotion on your face while tanning we recommend a tanning lotion designed for the face or a basic facial moisturizer.
